Leave it to Les Miles to provide one of College Football’s best quotes even before the season begins. During his press conference Monday, Miles explained his trend of starting Australian punters for the last six seasons.

That makes sense. Brad Wing signed with LSU in 2010 and took over as the team’s punter as a redshirt freshman in 2011. Jamie Keehn signed in 2012 and started from 2013-15. Now, the Tigers have a new Aussie in redshirt freshman Josh Growden, who Miles announced will start in Week 1.
And while Australian isn’t a language, per se, “speaking Australian” has been the tagline for Foster’s for decades, so Miles gets a pass
