Report: Les Miles returning to Tiger Stadium Saturday, will be honored with 2007 title team

Les Miles is returning to Tiger Stadium Saturday and will be honored at halftime with the 2007 national championship team, according to Ross Dellenger of The Advocate.
The irony here is delicious.
Miles was fired in the middle of last season following a loss to Auburn, and LSU hosts Auburn Saturday. Gus Malzahn has his team still in contention for an SEC Championship and College Football Playoff spot, while LSU is coming off of a much-needed win against Florida.
Following his dismissal from LSU, Miles was hoping to land another head coaching job, but he was unsuccessful. He’s been doing analyst work for ESPN and FOX Sports this season.
The last time Miles coached in Tiger Stadium, the Tigers beat Mississippi State 23-20.
This is a good move by both LSU and Miles. Neither hold a grudge, and it says a lot about Miles’ character that he would return to the place that canned him just over a year ago. Miles remains a strong supporter of the program, and it owes him around $8 million over the next five years for his buyout.
