The Dallas Cowboys have moved on from Jason Garrett, and are on the search for a new head coach, as it was finally made official on Sunday after a drawn-out process.

FOX Sports’ Jay Glazer and other NFL reporters shared the development during Sunday’s Philadelphia-Seattle game.

With Garett on the way out, owner Jerry Jones is reportedly considering experienced NFL head coaches who are currently without a job, however according to Odds Shark, Jones may be looking to the college ranks as well.

Oklahoma head coach Lincoln Riley has the best odds, after wrapping up his third season as Oklahoma’s head coach with a blowout loss to LSU in the College Football Playoff semifinal.

Former Ohio State and Florida head coach Urban Meyer sits at +700, joining Riley as a candidate who has never been an NFL head coach.

Current Florida coach Dan Mullen is listed as a distant possibility as well, although Mullen has publicly fielded more questions about jumping to the NFL than Riley or Meyer this season.

Not many jobs have as many eyes on it as the head coach of the Dallas Cowboys, so the entire country will be fascinated to see where  Jones takes the search. Could a top college football program be on the lookout for a new coach in the near future?
