Linebacker decommits from Alabama, releases statement via Twitter

The Crimson Tide lost a commitment from Oneonta, Ala. linebacker Riley Cole on Sunday afternoon. Cole broke the news by releasing a statement on his Twitter account.

Grayshirting is a method of delaying a commitment’s enrollment that allows a team to sign a large class and meet NCAA guidelines regarding initial counters and number of scholarship players on roster.
Alabama’s class is currently ranked No. 7 overall in 247Sports composite rankings.
