LISTEN: Greg McElroy responds to report that his Alabama teammates took money for autographs

Greg McElroy took time to address the report that surfaced on Monday that Alabama players were paid in 2009 for signing a number of different memorabilia items.
The report claims that star DL Terrance Cody and DB Marquis Johnson were paid for signing a variety of items leading up to the 2009 National Championship. McElroy, quarterback for the 2009 Alabama team that won the National Championship, was named in the report, but it is said McElroy signed a number of items while declining payment in order to comply with NCAA regulations.
It certainly is an interesting report to come out nearly 10 years later, but McElroy did address the issue. He says he never took money for anything he signed, but he also said he has no idea if Cody or Johnson ever took money.
McElroy found the story suspicious as he could not remember a teammate named Rod Woodson from 2009. He also has no recollection of the event from the report and could not identify the man who made the claim.
It appears Woodson was a teammate on that 2009 Crimson Tide team. He appeared in 12 games with seven total tackles that season. Still, the rest of the story is a hard one to verify at this point but will be interesting to see how it develops.
