LJ McCray is down to just 5 potential options for his collegiate destination.
McCray released a SEC-heavy top 5 on Friday afternoon. He’s still considering Auburn, Florida, Georgia, Miami and Florida State.

McCray is one of the most dynamic defensive line prospects in the country. He’s the No. 107 overall player and the No. 15 player at his position in the class of 2024, per 247Sports Composite rankings. He’s also the No. 17 player from the state of Florida.
He attends Mainland High School in Daytona Beach, Florida. He’s listed at 6-foot-6, 260 pounds.
McCray has already visited Florida, Miami, Auburn and Georgia this month. He’s set to take an official visit to Florida State during the season in October.
Georgia and Florida are both ranked in the top 3 nationally for the class of 2024 to this point in the cycle, per 247Sports Composite rankings. Auburn, with new head coach Hugh Freeze, is still building momentum and has 8 commits so far in 2024.
