LOOK: Auburn fans were not used to Bill Walton’s style of ‘commentary’

Basketball legend Bill Walton has his own “unique” style of broadcasting as a color commentary. It’s safe to say many who follow Auburn hoops were in for a culture shock watching the AU-Arizona game Wednesday.
Walton normally covers Pac-12 in college hoops, but he was out in Maui for the Maui Invitational and was on the call Wednesday for Auburn vs. Arizona.
Auburn fans and media members quickly caught on that Walton will talk much more than just the game:
These are all the amazing things Bill Walton said in the Auburn-Arizona game alone (plus one from the 7th place game). Never change, Bill. pic.twitter.com/hKPbdE4X0A

First time I’ve ever listened to Bill Walton call a game and buddy let me tell you what… I have no Fing clue what he’s talking about. Something about evolution and Austin Wiley is a volcano or something.#Auburn

Yeah, it was comical at first…but now they are really falling off the wagon, taking the rambling off into outer space, specifically Bill Walton. Though I guess I’ll put up with it because he’s constantly heaping praise on my team lol #Auburn

Two of my lifelong dreams took place in two days: Auburn played Duke in basketball and Bill Walton called an Auburn game
— Tucker Carden (@TuckerCarden) November 22, 2018
Bill Walton just called the referee, who’s retiring after this Auburn-Arizona basketball game, a towering giant in a world of shriveling midgets. A few seconds later, a Neil Young reference.

“15 years from now parents are going to name their children Chuma…. Chuma Okeke Smith.”
