LOOK: CMU head coach celebrates rivalry win with trophy in unique fashion

That’s one way to celebrate a win over your rival.
Central Michigan and Western Michigan battled it out Wednesday night in the annual fight for the Victory Cannon. The series was dominated by WMU from 2011-2016 with the Broncos winning five of six meetings in that span.
CMU head coach John Bonamego led the Chippewas into the matchup looking for his first win in the rivalry. Bonamego took over in 2015 and had lost his first two meetings against the Broncos.
The Chippewas found a way to turn things around this season with a dramatic 35-28 victory Wednesday that included 21 unanswered points in the fourth quarter. It was a great win for the team, and it appears Bonamego celebrated with the rivalry trophy in an unusual way after the victory.
