LOOK: Emmitt Smith posts several pics of Georgia visit with his son EJ, including ‘Commit to the G’ caption
Considering Emmitt Smith is one of the most prolific players in Gator football history, he left the program after setting 58 school records, it’s odd to see the former Florida great supporting Kirby Smart’s Georgia, yet here we are.
Of course, it’s not as if Smith has turned his back on his alma mater, he’s simply supporting his son EJ Smith. EJ is one of the most highly ranked running back prospects for the 2020 recruiting cycle as he’s already landed scholarship offers from Florida, Georgia, Arkansas, Texas A&M, and Ohio State among others. Florida offered the Dallas native after the Bulldogs, however, and may be trailing in the recruitment at the moment for the legacy prospect.
Judging by the photos Emmitt Smith posted over the weekend, the Smith family is enjoying their time in Athens. Here’s Smith with his wife Pat and Kirby Smart:

Here is another where Emmitt uses the caption “Commit to the G” while in the Georgia facility with his son and wife:

Dan Mullen may have some work to do in order to catch up to the Bulldogs here, otherwise, the next Smith running back in the family could be setting records against the Gators and not for them.
To see why EJ Smith is so coveted on the recruiting trail at the moment, check out his latest high school highlight reel:
