It’s officially official – former Auburn K Daniel Carlson is a Viking.
Less than a week after being selected in the fifth round, Carlson inked his first NFL deal with his new team. Carlson was an apparent priority for the Vikings judging by the team’s front office moves.
Less than one hour after Minnesota traded picks No. 167 and No. 225 to the New York Jets, the Vikings traded again to get both picks back. Carlson, the first placekicker selected in the 2018 NFL Draft, was taken at No. 167 overall.
Carlson is the SEC’s all-time leading scorer with 480 points and holds 14 Auburn records. He shared photos of his signing Thursday via his Twitter account.
