Former Florida OL Rod Johnson’s time at UF did not go as planned. He originally signed with the Gators in 2013 and appeared in 12 games of the 2014 season. Johnson was projected to start in 2015, but his career came to an end after he suffered a spinal injury in an April 2015 scrimmage.

Johnson never played football at Florida again, but he stayed in Gainesville to earn his degree from UF. For that, he recently thanked former coach Will Muschamp.

“Greatness awaits no man blessed to be a alumni at this university Gators 4 life thank you @CoachWMuschamp you saved my life,” Johnson tweeted Saturday.

Muschamp saw the tweet and congratulated his former player.

“@Almighty_rod55 You did it! #HOTROD!” Muschamp replied.

Johnson answered the reply with more praise for his former coach.

“@CoachWMuschamp You always guided me on the right path you the best coach I ever had you know you got my loyalty forever,” he tweeted back.
