It’s safe to say this season has not gone well for Florida State and Louisville.

The matchup between the Seminoles and Cardinals was highly anticipated heading into the season. Both teams were ranked in the AP Top 25 and featured dynamic QBs with high expectations for 2017. Unfortunately, neither team has been able to put up consistent results this year.

Louisville entered Saturday’s game with a 4-3 record after back-to-back losses to North Carolina State and Boston College. Last year’s Heisman winner Lamar Jackson has still put up good numbers this season, but the Cardinals defense has allowed 47, 39, and 45 points in the three losses.

Florida State has had its own set of issues this year. Starting QB Deondre Francois was injured in the season opener against Alabama, and the offense has struggled heavily since then. The Seminoles entered the game 2-3 on the season, and both wins went down to the wire against Wake Forest and Duke.

It has been a disappointing season for both teams which can be seen in the lack of fans for Saturday’s noon kickoff. Mike Bianchi shared a look at the disappointing number of fans on Twitter:

With each team already featuring multiple losses in the ACC, Saturday’s game will likely be for bragging rights and not much else.
