The Miami Hurricanes “turnover chain” became famous last season. In 2018, it will be back and maybe better than ever.
So much excitement exists for the new bling that the updated “turnover chain” may have leaked onto the internet Friday afternoon.
Reddit user HurricaneStiz posted a picture from Twitter of the new chain in a Reddit forum at about 3:15 pm ET. The picture and tweet have since been deleted, but a Bleacher Report writer also picked it up.

If this is indeed the new chain, the biggest difference will be the giant gold “Sebastian the Ibis.” It looks like it will apparently replace the shiny Miami “U” at the bottom of the chain.
The Hurricanes “turnover chain” is presented on the sidelines to any defender who causes a takeaway. This public display created great motivation for the Miami defense last year, which finished tied for the third-most takeaways in the FBS with 31.
