No. 13 Virginia Tech suffered arguably the most embarrassing loss of the 2018 season in Week 4, falling 35-49 at Old Dominion (a Conference USA team which entered 0-3). Now the Hokies will be without a contributing defender going forward.

Virginia Tech coach Justin Fuente announced Sunday that DL Trevon Hill had been dismissed from the team for not upholding the program’s high standards. While it wasn’t specified how those standards weren’t upheld, it certainly didn’t have to do with play. Hill tied for fourth on the team with six total tackles. His 1.5 sacks against Old Dominion led all VT defenders.

Hill took to social media after the loss. It’s unclear if this is what led to the dismissal, but many on Twitter are skeptical.
