Louisville LB Shawnkel Knight-Goff commits to Kentucky over Cardinals

Three-star outside linebacker Shawnkel Knight-Goff committed to Kentucky on Friday night per multiple reports.
Knight-Goff verbally committed to the Wildcats months ago, but then de-committed to seek out other schools, mainly rival Louisville. The Kentucky faithful can let out a sigh of relief, though, as the 3-star prospect is back in Wildcat blue.
The 3-star recruit is listed as an outside linebacker and athlete at Rivals, but he’s also listed as a weak-side defensive end. So there’s probably some flexibility in where he lines up on the Kentucky defense.
In addition to Kentucky and Louisville, Knight-Goff received offers from Cincinnati, Indiana, Iowa State, Purdue, Western Kentucky, Miami (OH) and Austin Peay.
Knight-Goff is the fifth-highest recruit Kentucky has landed in the 2019 class based on the 247Sports composite rankings. There’s still about seven weeks until Early National Signing Day, but with 19 hard commits, Kentucky’s 2019 class is ranked 36th nationally and 12th in the SEC.
Here are Knight-Goff’s junior highlights:
