LSU AD Joe Alleva: We offered to play Sunday, no talk of rescheduling

Following a Thursday afternoon press conference by Florida athletic director Jeremy Foley from Gainesville, Fla., LSU AD Joe Alleva gave the Tigers’ side of the story as to why Saturday’s game was postponed.

Alleva: "I want everyone to know, that LSU made every attempt to try to play this game."#LSU

Alleva noted the Tigers were willing to play on Sunday:

#LSU offered to fly into Gainesville on Sunday AM and play there and fly out Sunday PM.

Alleva: "You have to respect safety, Florida's concern about safety and travel. At end of the day, we're very disappointed." #LSU

He also denied reports that there have been discussions about rescheduling the game:

Alleva on making up game: "There's really not a lot of opportunities. It would be very difficult to give up a home game." #LSU

Alleva on UF steering the process: "I can tell you this. The first conversation with Jeremy was on Tuesday. He was confident he could play."
