LSU adds elite offensive tackle to 2026 class with 4th of July recruiting win
LSU added to its 2026 class on Friday with a commitment from one of the top prospects out of Mississippi.
Laurel (Miss.) West Jones offensive tackle Bryson Cooley announced on his Instagram page that he has committed to coach Brian Kelly and the Tigers. The 6-foot-7, 315-pound tackle prospect selected LSU over Mississippi State. He also held offers from Alabama, Florida, Florida State, Georgia, and Ole Miss, among others.
The Tigers have been cleaning up in the state of Mississippi during this 2026 cycle. They hold public commitments from the top-ranked recruit in the state, Hattiesburg wideout Tristen Keys, as well as the top 2 offensive linemen in the Magnolia State.
In the industry-generated 247 Composite, Cooley is a 4-star recruit. He’s the No. 26 tackle in the class and the No. 13 prospect in his state. In the national player rankings, Cooley sits at No. 299 overall.
A multi-sport athlete, Cooley won silver in the Mississippi 6A shot put finals with a throw of 44-10.
Cooley gives the Tigers their 13th public pledge in the 2026 cycle. He’s also the fourth offensive lineman to pledge to the class, joining 4-star Brysten Martinez, 4-star Emanuel Tucker, and 3-star New Orleans product Jalen Chapman. You can see Cooley’s highlight tape below, via Hudl:
Derek Peterson does a bit of everything, not unlike Taysom Hill. He has covered Oklahoma, Nebraska, the Pac-12, and now delivers CFB-wide content.
