LSU RB coach and recruiting coordinator Frank Wilson, who has been on Les Miles’ staff since 2010, is reportedly very deep into the discussion for the next head coach at UTSA.

Here’s the latest from FootballScoop.com, which is reporting that Wilson is up against Oklahoma State defensive coordinator Glenn Spencer for the honor of replacing former Miami coach Larry Coker, who went 26-32 in five seasons with UTSA.

The Roadrunners began playing football back in 2011, played in the WAC in 2012 before settling into Conference USA in 2013.

Wilson won Scout.com’s SEC recruiter of the year award in 2015. He spent time as an assistant at Ole Miss, Southern Miss and Tennessee prior to going to LSU.

The potential loss of Leonard Fournette’s position coach should worry Tigers fans on multiple levels.

According to the report, an official announcement on the coaching hire could be made by Friday.
