LSU has landed a commitment from Nashville (Tenn.) CPA cornerback Ondre Evans.

The blue-chip 2024 defensive back revealed a group of 5 finalists last week that had the Tigers alongside Alabama, Georgia, Michigan, and NC State. On Thursday, he shared his choice on social media. LSU — currently working on a top-10 class — has been red-hot on the trail lately, with Evans’ verbal pledge marking the third commitment in the last week.

The 6-foot-1, 180-pound corner is rated as a 4-star recruit in the industry-generated 247 Composite. He ranks No. 252 overall as well as No. 20 among cornerbacks. He’s also the fourth-ranked prospect from the state of Tennessee.

He holds verified times of 10.89 in the 100m and 22.28 in the 200m. As a junior last fall, he was credited with 38 tackles, 2 tackles for loss, 5 pass breakups, 2 interceptions, and a forced fumble.

LSU really emerged in this recruitment. Offers from the Tigers, Crimson Tide, and Bulldogs all came since the start of June. He camped at LSU just last week and, from reports at the event, looked like one of the best defensive backs on the field.

NC State looked like a real threat as well. He took multiple trips to Raleigh already this year and had an official on the books for later this month. It’s unclear if that visit will still happen.

Evans becomes the 18th known commitment for the 2024 class. You can see his highlight tape below, via Hudl:
