LSU center Shawn Phillips is moving on, according to a report.
Phillips plans to enter the transfer portal after just 1 season with the program, per On3’s Joe Tipton. As Tipton notes, Phillips was a 4-star recruit for the Tigers in the class of 2022.

Phillips was the No. 120 overall player and the No. 3 center in the country for the class of 2022, per 247Sports Composite rankings.
Despite his pedigree as a prospect, Phillips was not able to carve out much playing time as a true freshman. He came off the bench in 20 games for the Tigers and averaged just 7.4 minutes per game.
He originally chose LSU over offers from programs like Miami, Kansas State and Georgetown.
LSU is in the midst of upgrading its roster after a disappointing Year 1 under head coach Matt McMahon. The Tigers are bringing in a pair of high school recruits in the class of 2023 and have already added 1 transfer commitment from former Vanderbilt guard Jordan Wright.
McMahon and his staff are expected to remain active in the portal in the coming weeks.
