At least one portion of college football practices are usually open to the media.
Whether those portions reveal anything substantial or not is irrelevant — access to coaches and players is what reporters are after.
LSU reporters are going to have a tougher time getting that access, as NOLA.com reported on Saturday that all future Tiger practices will be closed.
According to the article, offensive coordinator Cam Cameron didn’t want media members recording a drill involving quarterbacks and running backs.
The article also states that Les Miles is wishy-washy when it comes to his plans with the media and he often changes his mind about how much access to grant the press.
In-season practices are normally closed to the media anyway, but LSU fans who are hungry for news will have to wait even longer this preseason before the Tigers finally take the field on Saturday, Sept. 3, against Wisconsin at Lambeau Field.
The good news is that game is only 28 days away.
