It appears Garrett Brumfield may still not be ready to return to the field this week.
On Tuesday, Ed Orgeron told the media, including Glenn Guilbeau of USA Today, that Brumfield is doubtful for LSU’s game against Alabama on Nov. 3. Brumfield hasn’t played since getting injured on Sept. 22 against Louisiana Tech.
Orgeron said that Brumfield is at “60 percent” with his knee injury, per Guilbeau.
Brumfield, who is the starter at left guard, is one of the Tigers’ top offensive linemen. It could hurt LSU that it may be without Brumfield against Alabama, which traditionally always has one of the top defenses in the country.
Orgeron also updated the status of defensive lineman Breiden Fehoko (elbow), stating that he expects Fehoko to play against Alabama.
LSU has a bye this week before hosting Alabama on Nov. 3. The No. 1 Crimson Tide and No. 4 Tigers are set to kick off at 8 p.m. ET.
