LSU coach Les Miles tells QB Brandon Harris to ‘relax’ on the field

After LSU QB Brandon Harris struggled in the Tigers’ 16-14 loss to Wisconsin on Saturday the calls for coach Les Miles to play backup Danny Etling grew louder.
However, Miles said he still believes Harris has what it takes to get the job done for the Tigers if he lets the game come to him:
“He’s talented and capable [of] decision making and really relaxing and letting the game come to him,” LSU coach Les Miles said. “At times he struggles there.”
Miles said Harris is still the starter, but he needs to show improvement and better decision-making against Jacksonville State this weekend:
“I think it was about the first two passes that he threw [against Wisconsin], he threw out of bounds,” Miles said. “It was at least early in the game, and I said, ‘OK, now relax and just realize it’s the same throw that you’ve been making. Just calm down.’ I recognize that he’s got to still come. We all do. And he doesn’t have a lifetime to do it, and there are other quarterbacks to go to.”
If Harris doesn’t get off to a fast start against Jacksonville State in LSU’s home opener, it’ll be tough for Miles to stick with the junior.
