LSU defensive end will miss Citrus Bowl due to academics

LSU will be without junior DE Frank Herron in Saturday’s Citrus Bowl, coach Ed Orgeron announced Friday.
Orgeron told reporters that Herron did not make the trip to Orlando due to academic reasons, but will be able to rejoin the team for spring performance, according to Shea Dixon of Geaux247.
Herron has played in 10 games this season, recording 20 tackles, including two for loss and one sack.
The Tigers take on Louisville in the Citrus Bowl at 10 a.m. CT on ABC.
