LSU earns commitment from 2024 Mississippi ATH previously committed to MSU
LSU padded its 2024 class Sunday with a commitment from a multi-sport athlete in P.J. Woodland.
Woodland is a 3-star athlete out of Hattiesburg (Miss.) Oak Grove. The 247Sports Composite ranks him as the No. 39 athlete and the No. 17 prospect in the state.
Woodland was previously committed to Mississippi State and reopened his recruitment on Oct. 15 before flipping to the Tigers. He had a message for the LSU faithful:
“DBU, Let’s do it,” said Woodland.

Other than the Bulldogs and Tigers, SEC schools such as Arkansas, Ole Miss, Tennessee, Auburn, Texas A&M, and Vanderbilt also sent Woodland offers.
Woodland joins fellow 2024 athlete Michael Turner in Baton Rouge. Turner is a 4-star commit at the position out of New Orleans.
The Mississippi athlete is listed at 6-feet tall, 165 pounds. The legacy of defensive backs from LSU in the NFL runs deep. Tyrann Mathieu and Tre’Davious White are some of the recent names.
Can Woodland continue the DBU tradition at LSU? Here’s a highlight tape of the athlete:
