ESPN’s FPI predicts outcome of LSU’s remaining games

The LSU Tigers are off to a roaring start this season, winning their first two games against Miami and Southeastern Louisiana.

However, tougher tests still await, and ESPN’s FPI projections still aren’t very high on LSU just yet.

As you can see below, the Tigers are only given a 25.8% chance to win at Auburn this weekend, and are projected to go just 5-5 in their remaining 10 games:

  • at Auburn — 25.8%
  • vs. Louisiana Tech — 89.6%
  • vs. Ole Miss — 58.9%
  • at Florida — 50.3%
  • vs. Georgia — 25.9%
  • vs. Mississippi State — 40.5%
  • vs. Alabama — 17.5%
  • at Arkansas — 73.5%
  • vs. Rice — 99.1%
  • at Texas A&M — 35.7%

If the Tigers lose three-straight home games (Georgia, Mississippi and Alabama), no matter how difficult they are, the pressure will be back on coach Ed Orgeron.

He likely needs better than the currently projected 7-5 record to keep himself off the hot seat. We’ll know a lot more about this year’s LSU squad after this coming weekend, though.
