Putting their allegiances aside in time of need, two LSU fans who had traveled to Wisconsin for the Tigers’ season opener acted heroically when called upon over the Labor Weekend to save the life of an elderly local.

While dining at a local establishment Monday, Louisiana natives John Dunlap and Ron Duplessis heard the screaming of an elderly woman on the nearby lake. The woman’s husband had fallen in the lake after attempting to tie a small yacht to the dock. After falling in, the small boat was holding the man down under the water, according to Maya Lau of The Advocate.

According to Dunlap’s wife, it took three men to rescue the man from the water.

While the trip up North may not have been very memorable for the majority of Tiger Nation, Dunlap and his wife Jill now have something positive to remember from their time in Wisconsin.

“It was very cool,” Jill Dunlap said. “Finally something good came out of this trip.”
