Les Miles shares his musical tastes, gives updates ahead of Alabama game
Les Miles completed his media tour Wednesday evening, meeting with reporters after practice and then jumping on the radio for his weekly show. Among the tidbits he shared were his musical tastes.
Asked which musical artists he likes, Coach Miles mentioned Toby Keith and Lil Wayne. He added "I have some variety to my tastes."

Miles added that LSU plays music throughout practices, and that they generally end with Frank Sinatra’s “New York, New York.”
The coach also let the reporters wearing red — Alabama’s primary color — know that this was the wrong week for that.

Here are some of the other dispatches from Wednesday night.
- Miles called the Crimson Tide the best team LSU has played this season “by far.”
- LSU is very healthy, considering they’re about to play their 10th game of the season. Running back Terrence Magee, who missed practice last week after being poked in the eye against Ole Miss, has been back in practice this week and will play on Saturday. Miles said he would have “fresh legs” this weekend.
- There will be plenty of recruits in the house on Saturday, and Miles knows his team competes with Alabama for high school players. He said that in-state players that choose LSU over Alabama have a pride in their home state. “The reality of it is they’re saying more about who they want to be than choosing the school,” he said.
- Miles said there have been some “violent collisions” in practice this week in prepping for Alabama.
- Coaches have been working with punter Jamie Keehn after he shanked a few punts in the last few weeks. They’re working on adjusting Keehn’s drops on his punts.
- On the quarterback situation, Miles said that the extra week has helped Anthony Jennings get more comfortable. Additionally, he mentioned that Brandon Harris is “improving” and that there might be an opportunity for him to play some significant action soon.
