Linebacker Whit Weeks is “unlikely” to play on Saturday when No. 20 LSU hosts No. 3 Texas A&M, according to a report from On3’s Pete Nakos.

Weeks is dealing with a right ankle injury that kept him off the field last week in the Tigers’ loss to Vanderbilt. According to Nakos, the star linebacker is still non-weight-bearing on the ankle.

Head coach Brian Kelly said earlier this week that LSU wouldn’t know Weeks’s status until “later in the week.” He was listed as doubtful on the first availability report LSU gave to the league on Wednesday night.

Weeks has 29 tackles in 6 starts this season, along with 2.5 tackles for loss and 1 sack. After being limited to 3 snaps against Florida and 17 against Southeastern Louisiana, Weeks saw a season-high 82 snaps in Week 5 and then 61 in Week 7.

Dahvon Keys started the game against Vandy. If Weeks is unavailable again, Keys is likely to draw another start alongside Weeks’s brother, West.

Kickoff between the Tigers and the Aggies is set for 7:30 p.m. ET on ABC. A&M is a 2.5-point favorite, per BetMGM.
