Five-star athlete Justin Watkins, a former LSU commitment for the 2018 signing class, has re-opened his recruitment, according to a report from 247Sports.

Watkins, who is rated as the No. 2 athlete and No. 15 overall player in his recruiting class, told the recruiting website that he wanted to take some time to look around and survey his options:

“I want to open up all my options,” Watkins said. “My mom is an LSU fan and I grew up liking them. I felt I made an early decision the day I got that offer and want to visit other places and see how everything is there, too.”

According to the report, Watkins has a visit with Auburn scheduled for Saturday and one with Florida State later in the month.

He also mentioned Clemson as a team that is pursuing him pretty aggressively.

With nearly two years until Watkins will need to put a pen to his National Letter of Intent, there is still plenty of time for him to come back around to the idea of being a Tiger.
