LSU lost a key member of its 2024 recruiting class on Sunday evening.
4-star tight end Tayvion Galloway announced he was backing off of his commitment to the Tigers.
Here’s his announcement:
After reconsideration I have decided to take a step back and de-commit from LSU. My recruitment is now open. Please respect my decision and no interviews at this time.

Galloway was one of LSU’s longest-tenured commits in the class of 2024. He had been committed to LSU since July of 2022.
Since his original commitment, Galloway picked up offers from programs such as Arizona State, Colorado and Florida.
His departure is a significant loss for the Tigers. He’s the No. 247 overall player and the No. 11 tight end in the country for the class of 2024, per 247Sports Composite rankings. He’s also the No. 8 player from the state of Ohio.
Galloway attends Chillicothe High School in Chillicothe, Ohio. He’s listed at 6-foot-5, 230 pounds.
LSU is down to 15 commitments in the class of 2024. The group ranks No. 7 nationally, according to 247Sports Composite rankings.
