LSU is entering a new era heading into 2026, as Lane Kiffin is now the guy in charge of the program. When any new coach comes in, there figures to be many players both entering the transfer portal as well as new players coming in.

One of those guys who announced he will be leaving is tight endDonovan Green. He made the decision known on Thursday afternoon.

“Grateful for this past year LSU football, was a great experience for me, but I will be entering the transfer portal on 2nd,” Green posted on X. “Thank you Baton Rouge. 1yr left no excuses.”

Green started his college career at Texas A&M, where he showed potential by finishing with 22 catches for 233 yards and two touchdowns as a freshman in 2022. However, he suffered a torn ACL, and wasn’t able to get back to playing for the Aggies.

He transferred to LSU last year, and had 2 catches for 40 yards.

The Tigers have one of the best tight ends in all of college football in Trey’Dez Green, who had 33 catches for 433 yards and 7 touchdowns during the 2025 season.

While the portal doesn’t officially open up until Jan. 2, Green figures to have interest from many schools who are looking for a talented tight end.
