A tough junior season for LSU offensive tackle Cam Wire has reportedly come to an end.

The 6-foot-6 left tackle sustained an injury in the Arkansas game that will keep him out for the rest of the season. LSU coach Ed Orgeron announced the news Monday.

Wire was a highly-recruited prospect coming out of East Ascension, but it took until this season to earn a full-time starting spot. He opened the year as the starter at tackle for LSU’s game against UCLA but left with a knee injury. That injury caused him to miss 3 games before returning for LSU’s game against Auburn.

He’d made appearances each week since before the injury against Arkansas.

The Tigers (4-6, 2-5 SEC) host UL Monroe this Saturday. Kick is set for 9 p.m. ET on ESPN2.
