LSU opens as significant betting favorite in Week 3 vs. Florida

LSU will host Florida in Week 3, with one team looking to go 3-0 and the other feeling the heat from their fanbase after a last-second loss to an unranked opponent.
Vegas unsurprisingly favors the Tigers to beat the Gators at Death Valley. According to Circa Sports’ opening lines released on Sunday, they are an 8-point favorite to win with an over/under of 51.5.
LSU is coming off a 23-7 Week 2 win over Louisiana Tech. Garrett Nussmeier finished the night 26-of-41 with 237 yards, a touchdown, and an interception. Barion Brown and Aaron Anderson combined for 16 catches for 167 yards.
Florida, though, dropped an 18-16 decision to South Florida at the Swamp as Nico Gramatica’s chip-shot 20-yard field goal sent the Bulls to an emotional victory while increasing calls for Billy Napier‘s job. DJ Lagway was 23-of-33 for just 222 yards, throwing a TD and a pick. Jadan Baugh had 18 carries for 93 yards.
In 2024, the Gators snapped a 5-game losing streak in the series as they defeated the Tigers 27-16 in Gainesville. They took the lead for good early in the 4th quarter as they picked up their first win over the Tigers since 2018.
