LSU offensive lineman Ethan Pocic pleased Tigers fans when he dismissed a high grade for the NFL Draft to return to play his 2016 season in Baton Rogue.

Now, the excitement has likely turned to concern after NOLA.com’s James Smith reported on Saturday that Pocic underwent surgery and would likely miss the Tigers’ upcoming spring practice.

According to the report, Pocic, who started at center for the Tigers last season, had surgery on an undisclosed hip injury.

It is likely to keep him out a 4-6 months, which would make an appearance during the Tigers’ spring practice seem like wishful thinking.

He’s not the only one.

Smith’s report also included news on surgery for LSU DB John Battle, who needed repair to a torn labrum in his hip and a sports hernia.

He’s also facing a 4-6 month timetable on his recovery.
