LSU worked its way back into the polls to finish the regular season ranked. The Tigers were voted No. 24 in the Amway Coaches Poll and No. 23 in the AP Top 25 following their 23-17 win over Texas A&M on Thanksgiving.

This marks the ninth time in 10 seasons that LSU has finished ranked under coach Les Miles. The only season the Tigers were unranked after the regular season was 2008. Finishing 23/24 in the poll is the lowest LSU has been slotted in the final regular season polls other than that unranked season.
LSU finished the season 8-4, with a 4-4 record in the SEC. The Tigers finished fifth in the SEC West standings. By moving back into the polls, LSU gives the SEC seven teams ranked in the final polls.
