LSU lost a thriller in New Orleans on Sunday night, as a would-be game-tying extra point was blocked with no time left on the clock.

Thus, Florida State held on for a 24-23 victory, spoiling Brian Kelly’s debut as the Tigers’ head coach.

As you can see and hear below, the Florida State and LSU radio broadcasts had very different reactions to the blocked extra point. LSU’s radio announcers were stunned into silence following the botched blocking assignments:

That is certainly a very painful way to lose the game for LSU, and a very thrilling way for Florida State to avoid overtime.

LSU had a field-goal attempt blocked in the first half, so clearly, special teams blocking is going to have to be a major point of emphasis moving forward for Brian Kelly and his staff.
