It’s not a bad time to be an assistant coach at LSU.

That much was already known after the Tigers broke the record for the richest contract ever for an assistant with Dave Aranda’s reported 4-year, $10 million deal.

Thanks to a public records request from The Advocate’s Ross Dellenger, we now know the official terms of Aranda’s new deal, as well as the other new contracts of LSU assistants. According to Dellenger, Aranda will indeed earn that record-setting $10 million over 4 years.

The public records request also revealed that new LSU offensive coordinator Steve Ensminger will make $800,000 each of the next 2 seasons. That’s a significant decrease from the $1.5 million that previous LSU offensive coordinator Matt Canada maid.

LSU offensive line coach James Cregg will make $475,000 annually while new special teams coordinator Greg McMahon will earn $375,000 per year and passing game coordinator Jerry Sullivan will be paid $420,000 for 2018.

The new contracts are pending approval of the LSU Board of Supervisors, who will meet next Friday.
