You can expect senior right tackle Vadal Alexander to leave it all on the field tonight against Texas Tech after leaving it all on paper before the Texas Bowl.

Alexander, who will be donning the purple and gold for the last time, poured his heart out in a letter thanking the university and fans during his time with the school.

The 6-foot-6, 320-pounder is ranked as the No. 2 player at a more appropriate position of offensive guard (due to his tremendous size and knack for attacking the middle of defenses) for the 2016 NFL Draft while being projected as a second-round pick.

You can read the letter in its entirety below:

—————

To My LSU Family,

As I get ready to take the field for the final time as a member of the LSU football team tonight against Texas Tech, I want to say how incredibly blessed I have been to be able to represent LSU for four amazing years. I have loved playing for you – the best fans in college football. You are what makes wearing the Purple and Gold and playing for LSU so special.

During these last four years, I have not only grown as a football player, but also as a man. For that I thank my teammates, trainers, teachers, and last but not least my coaches, especially Coach Miles. From the first time that I met Coach Miles by the Tiger statue after football camp when I was 10 years old, I knew that LSU was the place for me.

The memories I have made with my teammates will make us brothers forever and I consider them part of my family now. Games like Ole Miss last year when Tiger Nation poured onto the field to celebrate, to the Texas A&M game this year when we carried Coach Miles off the field after that win over the Aggies, I thank God every day for my time here.

It’s truly been an honor to wear the LSU jersey and I hope that me and my teammates have made you proud. I will always be an LSU Tiger and LSU will always be my home. #ForeverLSU.

Geaux Tigers,
Vadal Alexander
