The LSU Tigers will be playing with heavy hearts in Week 4. One of the Tigers’ captains, Greg Brooks Jr., recently underwent brain surgery to remove a large tumor.
In honor of Brooks, the Tigers will be wearing a “3” helmet decal this weekend. The Tigers are slated to play against Brooks’ former team, the Arkansas Razorbacks.
Here’s a look at the helmet decal:

Brooks was named a captain ahead of the 2023 season. The defensive back played in the team’s first 2 games of the season, collecting 8 tackles and 2 passes defended.
The Louisiana native transferred to LSU before the 2022 season after spending 3 seasons at Arkansas. Brooks immediately became an important piece of the Tigers’ secondary, recording 66 tackles and 2 INTs a season ago.
Head coach Brian Kelly was asked if Brooks can be expected back on the field any time soon.
“That’s so hard for me to even know,” Kelly said earlier this week. “There are so many unanswered questions, I don’t know that I could even begin to give you the medical pieces relative to the surgery to give you an educated answer on that.”
The Tigers and the Razorbacks are slated to kick off at 7 p.m. Eastern on Saturday.
