LSU has lost another player from its roster as the Tigers’ roster appears to be in a state of uncertainty following the Will Wade departure.

Earlier this week, LSU suffered a decommitment from 6-foot-8 shooting forward Devin Ree, the No. 82 player in the class of 2022. Now the Tigers learned that 5-star SF Julian Phillips has requested a release from his signing. Wade was fired for cause amid “serious” allegations of NCAA violations.

“I would first like to say thank you to Coach Wade and the staff for giving me the opportunity to play at Louisiana State University,” Phillips wrote on social media. “Thank you also to the fans and everyone along the way who gave their endless support. But due to the recent changes within the staff, I have been granted my release from the university and will be re-opening my recruitment. I look forward to the journey of finding a new home.”

Phillips is a consensus top 20 prospect, and the 247Sports Composite ranked him the No. 12 overall prospect in the class of 2022. He reportedly committed to LSU initially over USC, Florida State, Clemson and Tennessee.
