Ed Orgeron reveals likely starting QB for LSU against Florida

Will it be Max Johnson or TJ Finley starting for LSU against Florida on Saturday?
Finley received the call on Dec. 5 against Alabama and was 14-of-28 for 144 yards and 1 touchdown. He was eventually replaced in favor of Johnson, who threw for 110 yards on 11-of-17 passing.
As the Tigers prepare to face the Gators in Gainesville on Saturday night, Ed Orgeron revealed in his Thursday press conference that Johnson would be given the nod.
“We’re gonna talk about it, but it looks like it’s gonna be Max starting at quarterback,” he said. “Max has been practicing with the 1st team and TJ with the 2nd set of reps. We can go either way, but it looks like it’s going to be Max. But we have not made the final decision. We’re going to tell them tomorrow.”
Orgeron agreed with the sentiment that with attendance set to be reduced at Ben Hill Griffin Stadium, the environment won’t be as nearly as hostile for the true freshman in his 1st start as it would be in front of the 88,000-plus that usually attend Florida games.
“Obviously playing in the Swamp is going to be new for any freshman, playing at night, but I think those guys are ready to handle it,” he said. “I think [the reduced attendance] is going to be an advantage for us, but I’m sure they’re going to have a crowd and I’m sure they’re going to be loud.”
