This offseason, UCLA forward Shareef O’Neal, son of LSU legend Shaquille O’Neal, transferred to the LSU program.

Ever since then, he’s been waiting … and waiting … and waiting … for the NCAA to make a decision on whether he can play in 2020-21 or not.

On Wednesday — one week before the season tips off — O’Neal took to Twitter to share his relief that the NCAA had finally ruled that he is eligible for this season:

O’Neal appeared in 13 games for the Bruins last season. He averaged 2.2 points and 2.9 rebounds per contest.

At 6-9 and 220 pounds, O’Neal figures to work his way into the frontcourt mix for the Tigers this year.
