It seems possible, especially if Auburn falls to an SEC West foe at home to drop to 3-2 on the year. But, it’s also possible that the school waits a while to pull the trigger even if Auburn loses this contest.
So, what chance does LSU have to pull off the road victory? A pretty good one, it seems.

Meanwhile, Auburn’s QB situation is in flux. Zach Calzada is out for the year with a reported shoulder surgery. TJ Finley also has a shoulder injury that will reportedly keep him out this weekend against his former team.
That leaves Robby Ashford, who started last week against Mizzou, as the presumed starter. Freshman Holden Geriner, who played a bit last week when Ashford was banged up, will be the top backup.

Obviously, that means we should expect a heavy dose of the running game, featuring Tank Bigsby and Jarquez Hunter. But, after a strong start last weekend against Mizzou, those guys were bottled up pretty well. LSU will look to follow a similar formula.

Mizzou had a chance to really put Bryan Harsin’s future at Auburn in jeopardy last week, but blew the game in epic fashion. Don’t expect LSU to shoot itself in the foot quite as often (or in such extreme ways). Jayden Daniels has been taking care of the ball well and the defense is playing some of its best football of the year.
Expect the LSU version of the Tigers to do what the Missouri version couldn’t and escape Jordan-Hare with a victory.
