LSU vs. Iowa: How bettors see Women’s Elite 8 game playing out

LSU and Iowa are facing off again in the Women’s NCAA Tournament. Last year, the Tigers and Hawkeyes played for the national championship. Monday night’s Elite 8 game (7 p.m. ET, ESPN) between 1-seed Iowa and 3-seed LSU is for a spot in the Final Four.
Ahead of tipoff, here’s how the game is being bet at DraftKings, per data shared with Saturday Down South.
The Hawkeyes are 2-point favorites. Iowa -2 is priced at -110, translating to a $110 bet being needed to win $100. LSU +2 is also priced at -110.

Those betting the spread strongly favor Caitlin Clark and the Hawkeyes. Iowa is getting 66% of the bets for 69% of the handle (money in play).

With only a spread of only 2 points, those who like LSU in the game are opting for the moneyline. Iowa is still getting the majority of the bets for the majority of the handle, but the splits are much tighter. It’s a 53/47 Iowa split of bets and 51/49 Iowa split of the handle.
Iowa on the moneyline is priced at -130. To take the Hawkeyes to win without covering the 2-point spread, a bettor needs to wager $130 to win $100. LSU on the moneyline is priced at +110. If the Tigers win straight-up and pull off the upset, a $100 bet would win $110 for a $210 payout.

Will LSU’s defense slow the Iowa offense?
With Clark’s ability to score from anywhere, Iowa tends to put lots of points on the board. In 3 Women’s NCAA Tournament games, the Hawkeyes have scored 91 points, 64 and 89.
Unsurprisingly, it was the 64-point outing against West Virginia that proved the toughest challenge. WVU’s physical, attacking defense got to the Hawkeyes, and Clark was the only Iowa player to hit a 3-pointer.
Monday night’s over/under is set at 168 total points. Both the over and under are priced at -110.
Bettors are liking the under, with a 67/33 split of the bets. The handle split is wider, 72/28.
