Nothing deflates a home crowd more than a turnover.
When you have a home-field advantage like LSU does, keeping fans engaged and loud is incredibly important.
That’s why, according to The Advocate, QB Danny Etling said the Tigers will try to make sure they don’t give the ball away on Saturday vs. No. 1 Alabama:
“Alabama is an extremely talented team at not only creating turnovers but getting touchdowns off of those turnovers,” Etling said. “So you can’t really give them easy touchdowns like that. That’s stuff that you can control as far an offense. If you can hold on to the ball, you’re going to stand a chance to win more games than if you turn it over three times.”
Etling will play a large part in LSU’s ball security. He must avoid both interceptions and strip-sacks against an incredibly talented Alabama defense.
The Tigers will host the Crimson Tide on Saturday night at 7 p.m. Central time. The game can be seen on CBS.
