LSU LB Arden Key works too hard.

No, I’m not Key’s PR rep talking him up. In a recent radio interview, it’s essentially what Tigers strength and conditioning coordinator Tommy Moffitt said about Key.

“He’s just so lean,” Moffitt said during an interview with “Culotta and the Prince” on 104.5/104.9 ESPN Baton Rouge. “It’s just so hard to keep weight on him because he works so hard.”

LSU lists Key at 6-foot-6, 231 pounds. Moffitt revealed that weight has gotten up to 239 at times, a more preferable weight for his position of outside linebacker in new defensive coordinator Dave Aranda’s scheme.

“Man, that dude works his butt off,” Moffitt said. “He practices so hard. He goes so hard on every rep, every day in practice, but it’s a chore.”

Key played defensive end last season, posting a freshman stat line of 41 total tackles, 6.5 tackles for loss and five sacks.
