LSU will be down one young piece of the wide receiver room for the remainder of the season.

Thursday night, head coach Brian Kelly revealed on his weekly radio show that redshirt freshman Kyle Parker would be sidelined for the rest of 2024. Parker sustained a torn triceps tendon that will keep him out.

Parker appeared in 4 games so far this season and had 3 catches on the year. He did score his first career touchdown with a 45-yard catch against UCLA.

Coming out of high school, Parker was a 4-star WR out of Texas for the 2023 recruiting class. He had no shortage of major offers with major speed and a track-and-field background as well.

The good news is Garrett Nussmeier has no shortage of option so far this season. The Tigers have 5 players with at least 12 catches so far this season and 6 players with 100+ receiving yards. Aaron Anderson currently leads LSU with 371 yards while Kyren Lacy has 5 receiving touchdowns to lead the team.

Still, that is a disappointing setback for a young player who was still finding his footing and making the most of his opportunities. Hopefully Parker is able to rehab smoothly and get back on the field without setbacks for 2025.
