LSU’s recruiting class suffers decommitment of elite prospect Caden Sterns

Caden Sterns must not want to be a part of the next DBU after all.
Ed Orgeron’s first full recruiting class in Baton Rouge has gotten off to a terrific head start, landing commitments from 16 prospects before the calendar reached May. Despite the early success, LSU’s latest recruiting class took a hit over the weekend as four-star prospect Sterns flipped his commitment from the Tigers to Texas. A Texas native, Sterns had been committed to the Tigers since November.
The 6-foot-1, 192-pound Sterns is currently ranked as a four-star prospect, the No. 4 safety in the nation and the No. 3 overall recruit from the state of Texas according to 247Sports. His older brother, Jordan Sterns, played safety for Oklahoma State.

LSU still has 15 prospects committed to the SEC’s top-ranked 2018 recruiting class. The class rates as the nation’s No. 3 overall class following Sterns’ decommitment. LSU still holds two commits from safeties Nadab Joseph and ArDarius Washington.
