LSU’s Steven Milam hits walk-off home run to beat Wofford in opening game of Chapel Hill Regional
LSU’s Steven Milam has done it again.
Less than a week since Milam put LSU in the SEC Tournament title game with a walk-off home run against South Carolina, he accomplished the same feat to give the Tigers a 4-3 win over Wofford on Friday.
Milam is a switch-hitter — his blast against the Gamecocks came from the right side of the plate while his game-winner vs. Wofford was as a lefty. Here’s video of his walk-off home run vs. the Terriers:

This was Milam’s second home run of the game, as he put the Tigers on the board with a solo blast in the 7th inning. Milan is now up to 8 home runs on the season.
LSU trailed for much of this game before mounting a late comeback. The Tigers trailed 3-1 entering the bottom of the 8th inning, but got a pair of solo shots from Michael Braswell III and Jared Jones to tie the game.
LSU’s Gage Jump earned the start on the mound in this game and pitched very well. He allowed 3 runs over 7.1 innings while striking out 9 batters. Jump threw 102 pitches before being lifted from the game. Griffin Herring earned the win in relief as he struck out the side in order in the 9th inning.
Looking ahead to the next round, LSU is expected to start Luke Holman against the winner of North Carolina-LIU. Holman has been LSU’s most consistent pitcher throughout the year, posting a 2.54 ERA in 85 innings. Opponents hit just .167 against Holman this season.
LSU will face either UNC or LIU at 5 p.m. ET on Saturday evening in Chapel Hill. If you want to bet on this game or LSU’s College World Series chances, here’s everything you need to know about the top Louisiana online sports betting apps on the market.
